the

personal

Wells
School

Dancing
in

the

To process your enquiry and register a child or yourself into dance classes.

To deliver to you timely and current updates relating to the school such as term dates and invoices.

Dancing’s

School

Does Wells School of Dancing share personal information?
Your
information,
will
not
be
sold,
exchanged,
transferred,
or
given
to
any
other
party
for
any
reason
whatsoever,
without
your
consent,
other
than
for
the
express
purpose
of
delivering
our
services,
for
example
when
running
examination
sessions
with
the
Imperial
Society
of
Teachers
of
Dancing
(ISTD).
The
ISTD
request
advanced
notice
of
students
taking
examinations
and
this
will
include
their
names,
date
of
birth,
gender
and
any
other
information
that
may
have
a
bearing
on
the
student’s
performance,
so
if
possible,
appropriate
adjustments can be made and the examiners can be prepared.
We
will
not
email
you
unless
it
is
a
direct
response
to
an
enquiry,
for
accounting
purposes
or
we
need
to
share
important
school
information with you.
What information does the school collect?
When
you
enrol
for
classes
with
Wells
School
of
Dancing
we
collect
the
name(s)
of
the
student
and
if
a
child
(under
the
age
of
18)
their
parents and/or guardian details including:
Phone numbers
Email addresses
Postal address
Date of birth
Gender
The only special category personal data we collect is that relating to ethnic background, which is required by the ISTD for statistical purposes only.
The above information is used for internal record keeping to maintain a student’s dance record and for invoicing purposes.
On
occasion
we
may
contact
you
with
regards
to
news
updates
about
the
school
as
well
for
marketing
purposes.
Please

that
you
may
withdraw this consent at any time by notifying us at our main business address or via email to

As pupils progress through the school and take exams, their results will be held by the school for reference purposes.
We
also
hold
measurements
of
all
students
taking
part
in
Wells
School
of
Dancing
shows
when
they
hire
costumes
through
the
school.
These are for the sole purpose of providing the students with correct costume sizes.
There
are
times
when
pictures
or
videos
are
taken
for
promotional
material.
This
only
takes
place
with
the
consent
of
the
student
or
parent/guardian
for
a
child
under
the
age
of
18.
Also,
video
and
photographs
are
taken
at
all
shows
and
we
obtain
a
signed
consent
form
for
all
performers.
Wells
School
of
Dancing
may
use
the
images
resulting
from
any
photography/video
in
their
marketing,
including
(but
is
not limited to), printed and online publicity, social media and press releases.
Security
We
are
committed
to
ensuring
that
your
information
is
secure.
In
order
to
prevent
unauthorised
access
or
disclosure,
we
have
put
in
place
suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.
What happens when a student leaves?
We
securely
retain
a
copy
of
student
information
after
they
leave
the
school.
The
retention
is
for
the
purpose
of
being
prepared
in
the
event
a
student
decides
to
return
within
that
period,
something
that
frequently
occurs
notably
with
younger
dancers
or
students
that
leave
for higher education and then return as adult dancers.
How can you obtain information relating to you or your child?
If
you
wish
Wells
School
of
Dancing
to
provide
you
with
a
copy
of
the
data
we
hold,
we
can
and
will
supply
you
with
this
in
either
a
hard
or
digital copy as per your request. We will aim to respond to such enquiries within 28 days.
If
you
are
unhappy
about
the
handling
of
your
personal
information
and
wish
to
raise
a
complaint
you
can
do
so
by
